2016 Olympic all-around champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, leads the senior women’s all-around rankings after the first night of women’s competition at the 2018 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, the national championships for men’s and women’s gymnastics.

This week at the U.S. Championships at Boston’s TD Garden, the 2008 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Teams will be honored on the 10th anniversary of their dual achievements, marking the only time that both the men’s and women’s entries made the podium at consecutive Games.

Ragan Smith is the defending champion. Morgan Hurd is the reigning world titlist. And there’s one more well-known contender for the U.S. title when the women’s competition begins Friday evening at the 2018 U.S. Championships – Simone Biles, the Olympic champion and three-time World all-around champ.

Yul Moldauer noticed an immediate perk after he won his first men’s title in Anaheim last year. “It definitely changed my Instagram followers,” he said. That was then, of course. This is a new season, a different venue, a fresh challenge.

Boston’s TD Garden is the destination for the country’s top male and female gymnasts for the 2018 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, the national championships for men’s and women’s gymnastics, scheduled for August 16-19.
